New Hampshire Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers | JustCallHeritage.com

Homes in the Northeast are notorious for humidity issues all year long. Dry air in the winter does not keep heat in the home, which can result in higher energy bills during the coldest months of the year. In the summer, a humid home can be incredibly uncomfortable and can even encourage mold growth in the more moist parts of your home. The good news is a humidifier and dehumidifier can provide the right amount of relief for everyone in your family throughout the shoulder months.

If it’s time to install a whole-home solution to keep humidity at bay, turn to the certified experts at Heritage Home Service. Our expert technicians can help you determine what kind of system is right for your home, and install it right the first time – keeping your family happy and healthy all year round.

  • Maine Humidifier Service

Although the name “dehumidifier” suggests that it works in the opposite way of a humidification system, it’s not necessarily an air drying system. Instead, a dehumidifier runs air through a cold refrigerant coil to capture moisture and withdraw condensation. The result is dryer air through the shoulder months that helps protect your home from unnecessary wear.

If your summers involve feeling uncomfortable in the great indoors, general feelings of being “clammy” and “muggy” in your house, or deal with increased mold growth during the summer months, it might be time for a dehumidification system. The experts at Heritage can help you determine what is right for your home, and help you find the best overall options.

  • Does My Maine Home Need a Humidifier and Dehumidification System?

Before investing in a humidifier and dehumidification system, there are several things you will need to consider about your Maine home. The first thing is to determine what factors are causing moisture or dryness in your home. Conditions like elevation, nearby bodies of water, and sunlight exposure on your home can all play into what you experience throughout the seasons. In areas with high moisture, humidity can spike in the summer months, while dryness can affect homes in higher elevations throughout the winter.

No matter which system you need for your home, your humidifier and dehumidifier can be controlled using a humidistat. Just like a thermostat, a humidistat lets you see how much moisture is currently in your home, and helps you balance the amount of moisture in your air to ensure your comfort all year long.

How Do Whole-Home Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers Work?

While heating and cooling systems work in your home to regulate temperature and keep everyone comfortable, humidifiers and dehumidification systems work completely different. These systems work to control the amount of moisture in your home, which can boost the effects of HVAC systems and keep your home safe from unwanted mold.

Called on a Thursday with an active leak…actually a drip…found by luck on the cellar floor. Vinny showed up less than 24 hours later, and after diagnosing the issue found the problem. It wasn’t what I thought, but his perseverance paid big time dividends. On a Friday early evening Vinny made a trip to a Home Depot 30 minutes away, and when he returned the problem was solved in 30 minutes. Heritage upgraded our electrical system from 100 amp to 200 amp, and installed a whole house generator for us during the winter, so we were very familiar with the company. I can’t say enough good things about their workmanship, their customer service, and their professional employees. I would be pleased to have Vinny come back should the need arise. He was great!!
