Heritage-Training-Academy

If you could have your home heating system worked on by a technician who receives 150 hours of specialized, hands-on training each year at a fully equipped training center or a technician who lacks this level of advanced training (perhaps even one who is learning on the job, inside your home!), which would you choose?

Exactly.

That’s why the leadership team at Heritage Plumbing Heating Cooling Electric built a 1,800-square-foot, in-house training center here at our headquarters in Auburn, New Hampshire.

Our team of licensed plumbers and electricians, HVAC heating and cooling specialists covers most of southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts — and we believe it is essential to provide each technician with the highest level of training before they arrive at your front door.

Our Heritage Training Center is filled with:

  • Functioning furnaces and boilers
  • Ductless heating systems
  • AC condensers and air handlers
  • Heat exchangers
  • Classroom space for video training and online testing

…and much more!

There’s even a simulation room where instructors can create the effect of a working on an air conditioner on a hot summer day … in the middle of winter.

Yes, it represents a major investment to plan, build and outfit the facility with a comprehensive array of essential equipment, pay the trainers and absorb the cost of having each of our technicians off the road for what adds up to several weeks each year. But it’s all an integral part of our commitment to sending only the best-trained, most highly skilled technicians to your home.

Training also must keep pace with the industry’s ever-changing technology. For example, not that long ago most equipment was analog, but computerization has fueled dramatic change. In addition to understanding how this affects components and systems, technicians must also learn how to make repairs and upgrades that are “backward compatible” — understanding that is often necessary to retrofit new components to older equipment.

Investing in advanced training is just one of the ways that Heritage distinguishes our service from that of our competition.
The training facility is the centerpiece of this effort and very few competitors have anything like it.

In addition to the technical training, we go above and beyond regarding the customer service aspect of the job.
Our ongoing commitment to excellence means that we also train our five-star Heritage technicians to be:

  • Clean, courteous and professional when you invite them into your home
  • Friendly and helpful when it comes to explaining their findings so you can fully understand the issue and ask any questions you may have
  • Well-screened in terms of background checks and drug testing
  • Careful – using drop cloths and even wearing protective booties to minimize the mess
  • Experienced and dependable, with strong character and work ethic

A family-run company founded by the Chartier brothers in 1986, Heritage follows a fairly simple philosophy: Focus on being the very best service provider with the happiest customers, while providing the best value for your money.

Our top-quality workmanship and customer-first approach have led to continued growth and career opportunities in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, so we are always focused on finding the best new hires for key roles.

However, new employees do not begin making service calls as soon as they join the company. Even experienced technicians start with ride-along training, working side by side with senior Heritage technicians to make sure their technical prowess, work habits, and customer service skills measure up to our high standards.

We also provide comprehensive training for our customer service representatives, so that when a homeowner calls in with a problem (example: “My water heater has flooded, what do I do?”) they know how to respond.

At Heritage, we’re always ready to roll up our sleeves and fix any plumbing, heating, cooling or electrical problem you may be experiencing. We are also on hand to consult with you on additional ways to improve your indoor atmosphere — and your quality of life.

In addition to providing industry-leading training for our expert technicians (and helping us earn our A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau), the Heritage Training Center stands as a symbol of our commitment to you. And if you’re curious to see the training center, just contact us to arrange a “tour.” Visitors are always welcome!
